Colonel Hoskins visit to Class 4
Children in Class 4 welcomed Colonel Graham Hoskins, a retired Royal Marine musician. He visited to support the Deal Town Time Detective work which some of Class 4 are engaged in at the moment. This project is being run by teachers across all schools in the Deal Learning Alliance and will culminate in the launch, on 23rd April 2018, of a Royal Marine Heritage trail in Deal. The trail will take visitors on a walk through 24 parts of Deal and Walmer associated with the Royal Marines, who left the town in 1996 after more than 300 years. Colonel Graham Hoskins was interviewed by all of Class 4 with questions such as; Why did you join the marines? How long did you serve in the marines? Could you describe what it was like living in the barracks? We are very grateful to Colonel Hoskins for his time and enthusiasm in coming to share his experiences of his life as a Royal Marine.
