Strong communication helps us build positive relationships with families. We aim to keep you informed, involved, and confident that you know what is happening in school.
Parentmail®
We try very hard to keep parents regularly informed about what is going on at the school and we are always looking for ways to maximise communication. We are also increasingly aware of the substantial cost and environmental impact associated with the amount of paper and photocopying involved when we send out letters. To help improve these areas we are using a service called ParentMail®, to communicate with parents by e-mail and text. ParentMail® will be beneficial to you because: -
- Letters/information will get to you more reliably
- We can send letters/information directly to both parents at the same time
- Communication regarding any school closure is instantaneous
Please be assured that Parentmail® is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
We expect all parents to register for Parentmail to ensure smooth communications home and to enable us to contact parents with urgent communication such as if the school has to close for any reason (e.g., severe snowfall). Parentmail registration forms were sent as part of the admission form paperwork.
ClassDojo
At St Margaret’s at Cliffe Primary School we use a system across the school called ClassDojo.
ClassDojo is used for rewarding and tracking achievements, behaviour and attitude in school as well as a communication tool to enable parents and carers to share the learning journey of their children in a safe, secure and easy way.
ClassDojo will allow you to see how well your child is doing at school in many different areas. It is a child friendly online system that the children find extremely motivating. Each child will have their own avatar and throughout the weeks they will be awarded points for various reasons, including excellent work and demonstrating positive behaviours (e.g. working hard, helping others, teamwork, etc.) and our school values.
Teachers will also use ClassDojo to share information quickly with parents and carers and to give an up-to date picture of your child’s learning in real time. There will be weekly messages to families and it will allow us to share images and videos of learning and the fun the children have throughout their time at St. Margaret’s at-Cliffe Primary School.

ClassDojo points will collect house points which we will still be sharing and celebrating on a weekly basis in Celebration Assembly. Points from sports events will also be added to the tallies.
We would like all families to engage with ClassDojo, as working together can only enrich your child’s progress. By joining the Class Dojo community, you will also be able to see how many points your child has received, and what they have been awarded for. ClassDojo consent forms were sent as part of the admission form paperwork.
Newsletters
We publish a weekly newsletter which includes a message from the Headteacher, pupils' achievements, class updates, upcoming events and community notices.
